These unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) would work in tandem to manage ginormous marionettes. A control system would direct the UAVs to pull the strings on each puppet to simulate movement. This includes making the puppet characters fly.
"The aerial displays described herein were designed and created because it was understood by the inventors that many characters fly in their stories (such as in a book or movie) but, prior to the inventors' aerial displays, it was typically not technically feasible to create a flying object that mimics the characters such as due to size, weight, dimensions, or other design challenges," the patent application reads.
What would these giant, Disney-patented flying marionettes look like, you ask?
And I bet it's just a hop, skip and a jump to get these drones and giant puppets weaponized for next-gen warfare.
